Police: $5,000 necklace ripped off woman's neck in Westbury

Officials say the suspects distracted the female victim by putting plastic necklaces on her.

A $5,000 necklace was ripped off a woman's neck in Westbury, police say.
Officials say the 74-year-old victim was walking on Salisbury Park Drive when two women jumped out of a car. They say the suspects distracted the female victim by putting plastic necklaces on her.
When the suspects drove away, the victim realized the valuable jewelry was gone.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police.
