Final preparations are being made this week on a permanent change to Westchester's 9/11 memorial at the Kensico Dam Plaza.
For the first time, there is going to be a physical reminder of the unseen toll of the attacks.
A new display honors the hero first responders who died years after exposure to toxins at the World Trade Center site.
Up until now, 'The Rising' in Valhalla has only listed the names of the 123 county residents who died when the tower fell.
Now, 41 more names will be added next Saturday at a ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of the attacks.
An estimated 4,000 responders have died in the years after 9/11.
News 12's Tara Rosenblum will have a special report on their health struggles this Thursday night.
