We have to look out for them.’ Stamford VFW honors fallen soldiers for Armed Forces Day

Stamford Veterans of Foreign Wars honored fallen soldiers for Armed Forces Day on Saturday.
Families and veterans gathered at Woodland Cemetery to place flags on their graves.
Volunteers also replaced any torn or worn-down flags with new ones.
Over 2,700 veterans are buried at Woodland Cemetery. Some veterans buried there served as early as the Civil War.
Organizer Archie Elam says he wants to connect people to history, but also never forget the sacrifice veterans made.
"For the families of our fallen soliders and airmen and Marines and such, and those who served – we have to look out for them," Elam says.
