The highly anticipated annual Big Duck Lighting took place in Flanders Thursday evening.
Families across Long Island came out despite the cold weather to continue the tradition that is now in its 34th year.
The Riverhead Middle School Choir sang their holiday classic "Duck Carols" from the main stage and helped with the switch the duck's wreath.
The event originally was supposed to take place Wednesday but was delayed because of wind and rain.
Santa Claus also stopped by for the lighting on a Flanders Fire Department truck.
