Warm weekend, dry days ahead before chance for midweek rain on Long Island

A warm start to the weekend will make for a great beach day for the final summer weekend of 2021.
There can be some rough surf from Tropical Storm Odette.
Warm and dry weather is expected for the next few days with chances for rain coming by midweek.
WHAT'S NEW: Cloudy skies this morning but increasing sunshine on the way warmer temperatures on the way. Tropical Storm Odette forms in the Atlantic, moving away from Long Island.
WHAT'S NEXT: After a very isolated shower this evening, dry weather continues with comfortable air moving in. Top 10 weather days Sunday and Monday. The next chance of rain arrives late Wednesday into Thursday with a cold front passing through.
Today: Warm with sun and clouds. Highs in the low 80s. North to northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight: A stray shower this evening then mostly clear and comfy with lows from 60-65. Some upper 60s in cooler spots. Winds shifting north 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny. Picture perfect weather with highs in the uppers 70s.
Monday: Sunny and nice. Highs near 75.
Tuesday: More great weather with lots of sunshine. Highs near 73.
Wednesday: Increasing clouds with showers later in the day. Highs near 75.
Thursday: Best chance for wet weather this week. Showers and few thunderstorms. Breezy. Highs near 72.
