Timberline Park in Brentwood renamed after baseball star
A Suffolk County park with an infamous past got a new name today.
Timberline Park in Brentwood was renamed after the late baseball Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente.
The park is where Wilson Batista Jr., 13, was shot in the eye while playing basketball in 2009.
Prosecutors say the MS-13 gang mistook him for a rival gang member.
Community leaders say they hope the change will act as a fresh start for the park.
Suspected gang member gets minimum of 21 years in prison
