A little rain and snow can't ruin a hearty morning meal at no other than George's Place! This Carmel staple of more than 40 years is co-run by Karen Pourakis, and named after her father-in-law. The cozy atmosphere and peaceful view over Gleneida Lake is the best topping for any meal.
After a delicious brunch, let's hone in on some scents at Jar Worthy - a unique woman-owned business in Brewster. This candle shop not only smells like a spa, but you'll also find the essentials for your self-care needs.  "It has a very homey feel, we hand-pour all our candles, our soaps, lotions and we're expanding to more self-care items," says owner Dana Hanrahan. “Plus, we collaborate with other local women-owned businesses to showcase their talents."
You'll find so many other little treasures like jewelry, decor, and spa wear.  But it’s the hand-poured all-natural soy candles, that are worth the road trip in itself.  "We use soy wax, cotton wicks and a blend of fragrance and essential oil to keep the ingredients as clean as we can," says Hanrahan.
With a reservation, you can actually make your own from scratch. You can choose from up to 20 different scents for your candle, then combine your favorites to create your own custom blend. Hanrahan will walk you through every step of the process so you can leave with a candle you love.
