Thousands remember Brooklyn victims of Jersey City shooting

Thousands of members of the Jewish community were expected in a showing of support following the death of Moshe Deutsch, 24, inside a Jersey City kosher grocery store Tuesday.

Victim of the shooting in Jersey City who hailed from Brooklyn were remembered in Williamsburg Wednesday night.
Thousands of members of the Jewish community gathered in a showing of support following the death of Moshe Deutsch, 24, inside a Jersey City kosher grocery store Tuesday.
Deutsch was inside JC Kosher Supermarket when police say two suspects pulled up in a U-Haul truck, walked into the market and began shooting.
A heavy presence of NYPD officers was spotted outside the synagogue where Deutsch's funeral was held. Sources tell News 12 that the Satmar rabbi was in Florida and returned for the funeral.
Members of the community attending the service say all of Williamsburg is keeping the victims' families in their prayers.
"There's no words for this, nothing to say, everyone knows it's going on, it's pretty obvious, what could I add? The only thing I can add is this is a very sad story and we hope it shouldn't happen again," says Meyer Kahan.
According to the United Jewish Organizations of Williamsburg and North Brooklyn, Deutsch dedicated his life to studying the Jewish faith daily, learning in a yeshiva that he was instrumental in establishing and getting off the ground. Those who knew him described him as kind and generous.
When Deutsch wasn't working, he spent his time volunteering and organizing Passover food distribution, taking after his father, who was a leader in his community.
The funeral for another victim, Mindy Ferencz, was also held in Brooklyn and Jersey City Wednesday night. Her casket was walked down the street before going to her final resting place.
