Police: Student approached by stranger outside Mepham High School

Police say a man approached a female student around 9 a.m. Thursday just outside of the school on Stewart Avenue and Leonard Street.

A warning for students and parents in the Bellmore School District.
Police say a man approached a female student around 9 a.m. Thursday just outside of Mepham High School on Stewart Avenue and Leonard Street.
School officials say the man in his 20s was driving a small white car.
The student was able to safely return to the school.
Principal Eric Gomez saying in part "We will continue to reiterate stranger danger safety responses to our students. As always, the safety of our students is our top priority."
