Fed up with takeout: Flatlands tenants say they've been without gas since May

Fed up tenants of a building in Flatlands say they haven't had gas in their apartment for months.
Tenants at the East 46th Street building say having to order takeout is not only expensive but also frustrating.
Tenants say it all started on May 6. Christine Bourdau says she recalls turning on the stove and it not working. A few weeks later, tenants say they received a notice from Toju Realty detailing that National Grid would be coming by to turn on the gas.
Tenants say the utility never came and that they then received another notice about a plumber who was scheduled to check the apartments on June 5. They say the plumber did show up but that holes were left behind in every apartment.
A spokesperson for Touji Realty admitted to News 12 that the gas was turned off because of non-payment. They said that even though it was taken care of, when the National Grid returned they noticed a leak and could not finish the job.
They say they are working with a plumber and hope to finish the job by the end of next week.
The Department of Buildings also tell News 12 that it will be sending a plumber to investigate.
