Police: Trio stabs 16-year-old boy in Huntington Station
Police say a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the buttocks in Huntington Station late Sunday.
They say the teen was walking on Depot Road around 10:40 p.m. when he was approached by three other teen boys riding bicycles.
After being confronted, police say the 16-year-old ran down First Avenue but was attacked by the trio.
There are surveillance cameras located near the scene, at the corner of Depot Road and First Avenue. They were installed several years ago by the Huntington Station Business Improvement District.
Police have not released a motive for the stabbing or surveillance photos of the assailants.
Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
The stabbing happened about a mile from a Burger King on New York Avenue, where in January a 16-year-old was stabbed in the back by three suspected MS-13 gang members.
