Snake blamed for power outage at New Jersey hotel

Authorities say they have found an unlikely culprit for a power outage last week that struck a hotel in Mahwah -- a snake.
The incident happened last Monday at the Sheraton Mahwah.
According to reports, a 3-foot-long snake got into an underground electrical box on the property of the hotel.
Orange & Rockland spokeswoman Sophia Salas says the snake triggered an outage shortly after 11 a.m. that lasted for more than four hours.
Power was restored at 3:25 p.m., but Salas says the snake did not survive.
There was no immediate word on what kind of snake it was.
Salas said no one was evacuated from the hotel, which was the only property affected.
AP wire services helped contribute to this report.
