The Suffolk Police Department showed support Sunday for the family of a fallen officer.
Sunday was one of the first lacrosse game for Nicholas, the son of fallen Officer Fadi Rafeh. The 38-year-old officer died unexpectedly back in January.
The department made sure to be at the game to show support for Nicholas as he stepped on the field at Miller Place High School.
They teamed up with Guardians of Our Dependents, an organization that steps in to help the families of law enforcement officers who have passed away.
Suffolk County Police Chief Stuart Cameron has a son who is a lacrosse player at Hofstra. He gave Nicholas a Hofstra lacrosse helmet and jersey at Sunday’s game.
