State police: 1 dead, 30 injured in almost 300 car crashes following freezing rain

Connecticut State Police say at least one person was killed and 30 others were injured in separate car crashes following freezing rain today.
Police say there were 285 car crashes on Connecticut roadways because of the icy weather.
State police also say there were 726 calls for service and 101 drivers assisted.
Freezing rain also caused school closures and delays across the state.
