Reps. Suozzi, King want to reinstate SALT deduction

U.S. Reps. Tom Suozzi and Peter King on Monday announced legislation that would retroactively reinstate the state and local tax, or SALT, deduction.

A provision in the 2017 GOP tax overhaul put a $10,000 cap on deductions.

Officials say the provision has been more of a burden to property owners on Long Island.

It's unclear if the legislation will clear the Republican-held U.S. Senate.
