Rep. Gottheimer announces bill to track US medical, health supplies

Rep. Josh Gottheimer announced a bipartisan bill to get New Jersey health care workers and families the necessary supplies to fight COVID-19.
The Medical and Health Stockpile Accountability Act will create a national tracking system for medical and health supplies. It comes after nationwide shortages of personal protective equipment, ventilators and COVID tests.
“The supply chain availability was such a challenge for us. Getting PPE for our front-line workers was something I spent every day thinking about,” says Don Eckert, executive director of supply chain at Holy Name Hospital. “One of the challenges we kept running into is where is the availability going to come from."
Gottheimer says the bill ensures the United States is prepared for future health crises and pandemics.
