Police: Skeletal remains found in Centereach was victim of violence

Suffolk Police have determined a man whose skeletal remains were found in Centereach was a victim of violence.

According to police, the victim was approximately 15 to 21 years old and is described as white or Hispanic, 5 feet 3 inches tall to 5 feet 5 inches tall, wearing size 4 ½ men's sneakers.

The man is believed to have been dead for about a year prior to his body being found last March in a backyard on Jay Road.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
