A local nonprofit has brought back a crucial service to get meals to people struggling in Connecticut.

Sixteen months since the pandemic began, food insecurity is still a major issue for many families in Connecticut.

Person-to-Person's "P2P on Wheels" mobile mini market was back distributing food once more at DOMUS on Lockwood Avenue today.

Person-to-Person began using its resources to help those in need while educating others about the impact of poverty and injustice.

Person-to-Person, Inc. is a nonprofit charitable agency and says more than 90% of all donations go directly their programs.

Clients of Person-to-Person make appointments and do all their shopping on the mobile truck, choosing the food.

Person-to-Person has food pantries in Norwalk and Darien.

In 2018, it put together the mobile food pantry - which is nicknamed Phil. When COVID hit, organizers say Phil had to pump the brakes for a while. Person-to-Person pivoted to distributing pre-packaged meals instead.

The mobile food pantry travels across Stamford Monday through Friday, stopping at several different locations.
