Motorist indicted for racist road rage knife attack
A motorist
who falsely claimed to be a state trooper is now indicted on hate crime charges
- after threatening a Black, off-duty police officer with a knife during a racist road
rage incident.
William Ryan, 60, was caught on video brandishing a knife, giving the middle finger
and yelling racial slurs at Wallkill Lieutenant Robert Mclymore earlier this
month.
Mclymore is
a pastor of a church in Newburgh and was headed there with his teenage son when
it happened.
Ryan
remains in Orange County jail and is expected to be arraigned in Orange County
Supreme Court sometime this week.
