The Suffolk County Farm
and Education Center offers 270 acres of farm educational experiences, and much of it is free.
On this century-old working farm, there’s a historic hay barn.
The nature explorer classroom is an outdoor interactive free playzone.
There’s an interactive backyard farm where you can learn the proper way to set up your personal farm, herb garden and chicken coop.
If it's traditional fall fun you are looking for - take a wagon ride. It will take you to the pumpkin field full of kid-sized pumpkins. You can pick your own right off the vine.
Get lost in the corn maze, wander through the 12 acres for free, and after the season the corn will be harvested to feed the animals.
Speaking of animals, you can learn about the 120 animals the farm takes care of from educators on-hand.
You can even purchase a bag of food and feed the goats.
The farm is right off of the Long Island Expressway and is open seven days a week all year round.
