Health commissioner: Man tests positive for mosquito-borne illness; 1st human case in state in 6 years

Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli announced at Wednesday’s COVID-19 briefing that a Sussex County man has tested positive for the Jamestown Canyon virus.

Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli announced at Wednesday’s COVID-19 briefing that a Sussex County man has tested positive for the Jamestown Canyon virus.
The virus is New Jersey's first human case of the mosquito-borne illness in six years.
According to health officials, the man, who is in his 60s, developed a fever and neurological problems last month.            
The last case in 2015 was also a man who lived in Sussex County.
