The family Lauren Smith Fields held a march in Bridgeport Saturday, six months after her death.

Relatives told News 12 they want to keep the spotlight on their loved one's legacy and focus attention on "Lauren's Law," which would require Connecticut law enforcement agencies to make death notifications in a timely manner.

"It's really important for us as a community to stand behind them and to let them know that we stand with them,” said Juliemar Ortiz, of Bridgeport.

Smith Fields’ family says police have still not done enough to get them the answers they want about her death.
