Gov. Ned Lamont has prioritized teachers and day care workers so that students can get back in the classroom full-time, five days a week as quickly as possible.
More than 1,000 faculty and staff in the Fairfield school district will get vaccinated today.
The clinic will take place from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities.
It's specifically for Fairfield public and private school K through 12 staff and support staff, and licensed child care workers.
Eligibility includes teachers, paraprofessionals, cafeteria workers, custodians, bus drivers, and in-school administrative staff.
The superintendent says while the state has advised school districts to set up their own clinics, staff can get vaccinated at any clinic in the state that's convenient for them.
Several other school districts are beginning the vaccination process this week.
Torrington teachers will get vaccinated tomorrow, and Stamford is later this week.
