Communities across Connecticut are coming together Monday to celebrate Juneteenth.
A "Hearts of Freedom" celebration will take place at the New Canaan Museum & Historical Society from 1 to 5 p.m. Stand Together Against Racism is hosting the event. There will be soul food, dancing and the creation of a community graffiti wall.
The Westport Museum for History & Culture hosted a Juneteenth walking tour in downtown Westport to honor the history of the town's African Americans.
Blessed Sacrament Church at 275 Union Ave. in Bridgeport is celebrating Juneteenth with a holy hour and proclamations. The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m.
