A 5-year-old child is seriously hurt after being hit by an alleged drunken driver in Riverhead.
It happened just before 7 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Lewis Street and Doris Avenue.
Police say the boy was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a Cadillac Escalade.
News 12 is told the child has serious head injuries.
The driver, William Downing, stayed at the scene and was charged with DWI.
He will face a judge today.
