Each year we remember the war that sent thousands to battle, including many Long Islanders.

World War II veterans will be honored this weekend at the Museum of American Armor.

The World War II Encampment Weekend will challenge youngsters with mock field exercises while re-enactors present uniforms, tactics, and weapons of that era.

Events will take place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
