Republicans have officially nominated Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino as their candidate for governor of New York.

At the GOP convention, Astorino promised an aggressive campaign against Gov. Cuomo. He vowed to repeal strict new gun control measures if he wins.

Astorino also says he opposes the state's new Common Core assessments and supports hydraulic fracturing for natural gas.
