Residents on the East End of Long Island are breathing a sigh of relief Friday now that Tropical Storm Beryl has blown by.
Emergency workers were on the beaches of Southampton to assess the damage. Beach erosion was a big concern for the weaker parts of the barrier island. Residents say waves were high and water came closer to houses than usual.
Coastal geologist Aram Terchunian says the dunes are all in place and there was no major damage.
