Police are searching for the person who shot a man in the back in North Bellport.

Police have confirmed that an unidentified 52-year-old man was shot in the back just before 5 a.m.

According to police, the man was sitting in a car in front of a house located on Provost Avenue when the incident happened.

News 12 Long Island has learned the man is expected to be OK.
