Officials say a Suffolk police officer was hurt in a crash while responding to a call last night. 

The incident happened on 5th Avenue in Bay Shore just after 11 p.m. 

News 12 has learned the unidentified police officer was taken to Southside Hospital with minor injuries. 

Police say the people in the other car were not hurt.
