A new investigative
study shows toxic heavy metals were found in many of the foods produced and marketed for babies.
Out of the 168 baby foods that were tested, lead was found in 95% of them, 73% contained arsenic, 75% contained cadmium, and 32% contained mercury.
The chemicals are linked to impaired brain development in children, even in trace amounts.
The worst offenders were foods made with rice, sweet potatoes, and fruit juices.
Researchers suggest buying foods with vegetables, oatmeal and avocado.
They also say meats are better sources of nutrients than rice cereals.
