St. Francis College has partnered with the online program management firm Relearnit to launch its first online degree program.

The bachelor's degree in exercise and movement science that students will be able to complete from home is expected to prepare them for careers in fitness-related fields and disciplines.

Alyssa Fisher, who will be entering the program in the fall after completing her first semester on campus, tells News 12 she's excited to get started.

"Being able to create my own schedule is definitely an advantage...to learn the material on my own kind of is an advantage for me just because I learn better on my own teaching myself,” said Fisher. 

Fisher tells News 12 she's grateful she'll be able to learn while staying home in Louisiana.

The new program is expected to begin in the fall, with about 18 students enrolled.
