Thousands of runners are making final preparations for the Long Island Marathon.

Marathon events kicked off this afternoon at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. 

Smaller races will be held tomorrow.

The main event, the full Long Island Marathon, is Sunday.



Parts of Charles Lindbergh Boulevard will be closed throughout the weekend.
