Rep. Peter King fires back following Sen. Rand Paul's comments on Superstorm Sandy aid

Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford) fired back today after Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) accused King and Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) of demanding too much aid following Superstorm Sandy.

"They are 'Gimme, gimme, gimme all my Sandy money now.' Those are the people who are bankrupting the government and not allowing enough money be left over for national defense," Paul said.

King says Long Island was hit with one of the worst natural disasters in history when Sandy struck last October. It took three months for New York and New Jersey to receive $61 billion to clean up after Sandy.

Paul voted against the aid.

Massapequa residents tell News 12 they think Paul should come to Long Island to see the damage for himself.
