Police say a woman died in a crash in Bay Shore.

According to police, the woman was in the roadway on Fifth Avenue in Bay Shore when she was hit by a car around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The person driving was not hurt and stayed at the scene.

Police have not released the woman’s identity.
