Police: Smithtown HS East evacuated after graffiti found that could be perceived as a threat
Smithtown High School East was evacuated Wednesday afternoon due to graffiti that police say could be perceived as a nonspecific threat.
The school says the graffiti was found in a restroom around 1 p.m.
All after-school activities were canceled while Suffolk County police evaluated the safety and security of the building.
There is no word yet whether the school will be open on Thursday.
