Police say a Shirley man was killed in a crash in Yaphank.

The crash happened on Sunday night on Yaphank Avenue.

Police say 25-year-old Nicholas Demaio was driving north when he swerved off the road, hit a curb and a telephone pole.

Demaio died at the scene.
