Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed in Centereach.

According to police, the incident happened a little after 10 p.m. Tuesday on Middle Country Road, East of Wood Road.

Police say a van hit 43-year-old Jose Palino Ajuilar, of Centereach.

Ajuliar was pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital.
