Police say a pedestrian was hit and killed Friday evening in Brentwood.

Authorities say a 32-year-old woman was driving northbound on Wicks Road around 6:30 p.m. when she hit a pedestrian in the roadway at the intersection of Merill Street.

Jose Cruz, 75, was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives say an investigation is ongoing.
