A Connecticut man is accused of assaulting a Nassau police officer in a New Cassel laundromat.

Officials say Yvan Peralta-Taveras was harassing customers at the Laundry Stadium on Old Country Road in New Cassel on Thursday morning.

An officer responding to the scene asked Peralta-Taveras to remove his hands from his pockets.

Peralta-Taveras reportedly refused and then started fighting with the officer.
