A 9-year-old is recovering after crashing his dirt bike in Medford.

According to police, the boy crashed into a tree in a backyard on Buffalo Avenue just before 6 p.m.

The boy suffered serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

Police say the child was wearing a helmet and that his father was there at the time of the crash.
