Police say a 6-year-old girl was run over by a car in Southampton Sunday afternoon.

They say the girl and her family were sledding in the Southampton Youth Services parking lot.

Police say a relative started a Jeep Wrangler and began loading the vehicle as they began to head out.

They say the car then rolled forward and ran over the girl.

She was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital for treatment.
