State health officials say that a passenger infected with measles traveled through Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport earlier this month, potentially exposing other people to the disease.
Officials say that anyone who was inside Terminal C on Jan. 2 between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. may have been exposed. Local health departments are also notifying passengers who may have shared a flight with the infected passenger.
Anyone who has not been vaccinated or has not previously had the measles can be at risk of infection.
Symptoms of measles include rash, high fever, cough, runny nose and red, watery eyes. Anyone exposed to the passenger may develop symptoms as late as Jan. 23.
Anyone who thinks they have been exposed should contact their doctor or local hospital.
