An East Patchogue nursing aide has been arrested for allegedly abusing an elderly patient.

Prosecutors say Marie Michael tied an elderly nursing home resident's ankles together with a plastic bag to restrain them.

According to prosecutors, the incident happened in July of 2015 at the Bellhaven Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Brookhaven.

Officials say the 41-year-old initially admitted to it, but later denied being involved.

Michael is due back in court later this month.
