A New Jersey woman is raising money for a project that would let the underprivileged visit the Jersey Shore.
New Jersey residents have to pay to visit most beaches in the state, which means that some people cannot afford to go.
Asbury Park resident Lisa Marie Cramp came up with the idea to raise money to pay for beach badges for people who cannot afford them.
She says that this project can also help save lives, because some people go to the beach when lifeguards are off duty since they no longer need to pay. This often leads to drownings.
Cramp started a
GoFundMe page with a goal of $5,500. She has now raised more than $10,000.
