Teacher Michelle Tumminelli is making New Jersey proud by running a fundraiser to get her students books to read.
Tumminelli teaches at Tulsa Trail Elementary School in Hopatcong. She wanted to make sure her students became better readers, so she went on social media asking the public to sponsor kids in her class.
For just $9, a student would have Scholastic books throughout the year.
The public responded, and now every third-grader in her class will get a new book every month to read as part of the program.
