Nassau County hosted a drug overdose prevention class Thursday in Massapequa.

Participants were shown how to use a NARCAN kit to prevent a heroin overdose. They were also able to take the kits home with them.

The session was run by community members and recovering addicts. Christopher Genovese is a recovering addict and says he now does interventions to help others recover.

Similar meetings are being held throughout the county.
