A man is dead after he was struck by a car in North Patchogue.

Police say 58-year-old Florencio Cardanas was crossing Route 112 near Sycamore Avenue with friends early Sunday morning.

He was struck by a passing Pontiac vehicle and was pronounced dead.

Police say the 37-year-old driver stopped at the scene and is not facing any charges at this time.

No one else was injured.
