Police say a 48-year-old man was struck by lightning in Bay Shore this morning.

The man, an employee of Roman Stone Construction Company, was struck at 85 South Fourth St.

According to police, he was struck while outside the business around 10:15 a.m.

The man was alert and talking when police and emergency personnel arrived and transported him to Southside Hospital.
