Members of the Malverne Union Free School District hosted their third annual Juneteenth Jubilee on Friday.

The festivities kicked off with a parade at Malverine High School.

It featured the "Spirit of Malverne" marching band, dance, poetry, musical performances and more.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery on June 19, 1865. It became a federal holiday in 2021.
